Itinerary
Imagine experiencing being a mountaineer in the Andes?
The Glaciar Ojo Del Albino itinerary offers a complete adventure with trekking, culminating in a lunch with a breathtaking view and a rest period before the descent.
The trail follows the traditional path to Laguna Esmeralda; once we surpass this stage, we continue with a slower and controlled walk along the right bank of the lagoon.
During the journey, we will encounter obstacles such as fallen trees and old inactive beaver dams.
Leaving the vegetation line, we ascend to about 650 meters above sea level, on continuous terrain on the mountain slopes, where the physical demand is higher.
Next, the guide will lead us through the lighter and most beautiful trail known among large and unstable rocks, ending in a natural terrace overlooking Laguna Esmeralda and the Sorondo mountain range, where we can see Mount Olivia and its neighboring mountain, 5 Brothers.
At this point, the mountain guide will be equipped with safety gear such as ropes and carabiners to safely overcome any difficulties that may arise.
Afterward, we’ll have a breathtaking view of the immense ice sea that is the glacier, with the Rhino Towers as sentinels in the background. While admiring this beauty, we’ll enjoy a hot lunch to regain our strength for the glacial transit journey.
To conclude our adventure, we’ll begin our descent along the same uphill path, admiring the landscape with due attention.
