Itinerary
Enjoy this incredible hike through the beautiful valleys of Patagonia! A fantastic experience awaits.
During this journey, we will walk along rivers, learn about the work of beavers, and explore the cultivation of peat bogs. We’ll make a stop to admire the beautiful Laguna de Los Tempanos.
We’ll depart from Ushuaia towards the base of the Vinciguerra mountain range.
Upon arrival, we will equip ourselves with the necessary gear for the trek, including crampons (if there is a lot of ice and snow) and trekking poles.
We will begin the hike by traversing a valley, enjoying the delightful sound of the river. Our guide will show us the beaver dams, known as “castoreiras” in Portuguese, and share the history of these animals that were introduced to this region years ago, causing a significant impact on the environment. We will also learn about the cultivation of peat bogs, which is common in the region.
Next, we enter the lenga forest. Lenga and nires trees are typical of Patagonia and offer beautiful images due to their unique shapes. Surrounded by the peace of the forest, we continue our journey until we reach the base of a waterfall, where we pause for a few minutes to replenish our energy and enjoy a snack.
With snow-capped mountains surrounding us, we face an uphill climb for over an hour, encouraged by the magnificent views that unfold as we ascend.
Finally, we’ll reach Laguna de Los Tempanos. This wonderful lagoon is named after the small icebergs that can often be seen in its waters. Along the shores of this natural paradise, we sit down to have our snack.
With our eyes filled with beauty, we return to the base of the mountain, certain that we have experienced a rare adventure.
