Itinerary
Discover on a full-day tour the Torres del Paine National Park (Chile), considered the eighth wonder of the world. Located in the heart of Southern Patagonia, 300 km south of El Calafate, it is considered one of the most beautiful parks in the world due to its curious and unique formation of mountains, glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, flora, and fauna.
Crossing the Patagonian steppe from north to south, we will reach the Cancha Carrera border post (approximately 2h30), from where we will start the journey through the beautiful south of Chile until entering the Torres del Paine National Park, which means Blue in the Tehuelche language, in reference to the predominant color.
Once in the park, we will make several stops with and without getting off the vehicle to contemplate lakes, waterfalls, and we may also observe foxes, guanacos, and perhaps pumas, among other native animals.
We will visit strategic points, from where we will take hikes that will allow us to access panoramic viewpoints of the most important natural attractions of the Park.
Starting from the shore of Cerro Castillo, we will take the road to Lago Toro, which we will skirt until reaching Rio Serrano. Along the way, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Paine Grande and Almirante Nieto peaks, make a photo stop, and as we progress, we may see the Glacier Grey in the distance.
Our next stop will be at Portería Río Serrano, the southern access to the park where forest rangers will control the entrances. We will continue to Camping Pehoe where there will be time for lunch while enjoying a magnificent view of the Cuernos del Paine.
Later, we will arrive at Puerto Pudeto, the starting point of the path leading to Salto Grande. If the weather permits, we will walk along the shore of Lake Pehoe to the lower viewpoint of the Cuernos del Paine. The hike is of low technical difficulty and minimal physical demand and is conducted in the company of our CONAF-approved trekking guide – Chile.
After this hike, we will continue in the vehicle to the upper viewpoint of Lake Nordenskjold, passing by Laguna de los Cisnes until reaching Laguna Amarga, a panoramic viewpoint of Las Torres del Paine.
Next, we will continue to Cerro Castillo to return to El Calafate, arriving at the hotels around 9 pm.
