Blue Safari

The Blue Safari is designed for those who want to navigate in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier and dream of being very close to the glacier.

The excursion starts in the city of El Calafate with the departure of the bus to Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arriving at Puerto Bajo las Sombras, located just 7 km from the walkways, we will cross Lake Rico on a boat, disembarking on the opposite side after a 20-minute navigation.

We will take a 30-minute walk, always looking at the south wall of the Glacier as there could be thunderous detachments, and upon reaching the ice, we will have an unforgettable experience. There, we will enjoy intense and varied shades of blue, white, and whimsical shapes.

We will have plenty of time to take many photos and, shortly after, we will return to the boarding point, always accompanied by an experienced guide. The total walking time is approx. 1.30 hours over a natural terrain of sand and rocks, with some slopes and stairs. In the 1.5-kilometer journey, we will approach the lake and cross a forest with lush trees overlooking the glacier.

Finally, we will return to the boat to enjoy, in the water and a few meters away, the south side of the glacier and observe every detail of the icy marbled wall.

Upon arriving at the port, we will depart by bus to the walkways to enjoy two hours of incredible panoramic views. Passengers can use this time to eat the snacks they should bring from the city of El Calafate.

After having crossed the Patagonian steppe, we will arrive in El Calafate with our souls filled with the natural energy of this unique glacier. We are looking forward to being your hosts!

The Blue Safari is carried out in a natural environment with changing weather conditions and characteristics of the glacier and its surroundings every day. However, the excursion is not suspended, provided that safety conditions allow it.

Observations:
Although the difficulty is low, the terrain has rocks, slopes, and stairs.
Suitable only for people between 6 and 70 years old.
Not suitable for pregnant women, people with mobility difficulties, heart problems, or others that may affect health during the walk.
Wear comfortable and warm clothing. Waterproof jacket, long and waterproof pants, sports shoes, and waterproof trekking boots. The weather is variable, and you should be prepared not to get wet or cold. Sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, and hats.
Bring food and drink for the whole day. The company does not provide food and beverage sales services.
