Itinerary
The Tierra del Fuego National Park is the southernmost park on the planet and the only one in Argentina that combines mountains, forests, and sea!
It’s a must-visit attraction for those who want to immerse themselves in the lush nature of the end of the world and learn about the region’s history.
We depart from the hotel towards Tierra del Fuego National Park.
During the journey, an experienced guide shares insights into the region’s peculiarities, history, wildlife, flora, and geography of Tierra del Fuego.
Our first stop is a little before the park entrance, at the Fin del Mundo station. Here, those interested in taking the train ride can purchase tickets. On board the train, besides enjoying the scenery, you’ll learn about the history of this railway that transported prisoners from Ushuaia’s prison to the slopes of Mount Susana. The train ride lasts approximately 1 hour.
For those not taking the train ride, you can opt for a short walk or enjoy the charming station and listen to the railway’s history from our guide.
Upon the train’s return, with the full group, we start our tour of the park—a 30 km journey with stops at specific points for appreciation.
Our next stop is Lake Roca, also known as Acigami. Here, we can admire part of the Chilean mountain range and soak in the beauty of the lake and forest, as well as take a walk along the lake’s shore.
Continuing our tour along the dirt road, we observe beautiful landscapes until we reach the park’s restaurant, which offers delicious pies, coffee, beverages, and a beautiful view. It also houses the Alakush Indigenous Interpretation Museum.
We then return to the road and head to one of the park’s most special places, the famous Lapataia Bay. Upon arrival, there’s a sign displaying interesting facts about the area, such as being the southernmost end of Route 3, making it a great spot to feel literally at the “End of the World.” A short walk leads us to a deck where the best view of the bay can be enjoyed.
The park is also home to the famous “End of the World Post Office,” where you can stamp your passport and send a postcard from the southernmost reaches of South America.
The post office is closed from 15/05 to 15/10 and is typically not accessible by vehicles. When accessible, we also stop at this point.
After this beautiful tour, we’ll return to Ushuaia.
