Itinerary
With 17,000 hectares of land at its disposal, this historic estate offers a glimpse into the rural life of Patagonia, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation amidst stunning landscapes at the foot of Cerro Calafate.
Upon arrival at the ranch, you’ll be warmly welcomed with traditional Argentine treats such as ‘mates’, ‘café carreteiro’, and ‘tortas fritas’, while learning about the rich history of the estate and its early 20th-century activities. Experience a demonstration of sheep shearing, a typical Patagonian activity, and gain insights into wool production and the intricacies of this trade, including fascinating details you may have never imagined about sheep farming.
Explore the various aspects of a genuine Patagonian ranch, from historic buildings and antique tools to a visit to the ranch’s plant nursery and organic vegetable garden, which supplies fresh produce for the farm’s barbecue area. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the old barns and corrals.
At the ‘Mirador del Arroyo’ on the estate, indulge in a delicious mountain-style wine paired with succulent confit lamb, adding to the authentic Patagonian experience.
After an enriching afternoon at the ranch, we’ll head to the restaurant ‘EL QUINCHO’ for a delightful dinner accompanied by a lively live show.
Begin your evening with a hospitable welcome drink and a taste of ‘pão de campo’ with sauce, while delving into the stories of the pioneering families who settled in southern Patagonia amidst harsh conditions and breathtaking natural landscapes. Watch a short video tribute to these pioneering families who made a lasting impact on the region.
For dinner, savor a variety of Patagonian delights, including ’empanada criolla’ for starters, followed by Patagonian lamb, sausage, rustic potatoes, and salads. Enjoy the meal accompanied by live music and a lively folkloric dance show. Wrap up your dining experience with a choice of delectable desserts.
Without a doubt, this afternoon and evening promises to be a memorable and immersive journey into the heart of Patagonian tradition, offering a unique blend of history, gastronomy, and entertainment reminiscent of a bygone era.
